Cockpit Cottage

The cottage is situated in the centre of the picturesque old fishing village of Runswick Bay, overlooking the sea and within 40m of the beach. Recently refurbished, it is attractively fitted out, has full central heating and is easily maintained.
The living area is open plan comprising a panelled elm kitchen, fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, a snug lounge area, TV and 3 piece suite; a dining area with views out across the Bay and along the beach. The bathroom is also on this floor.
There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor. The front bedroom has a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a dormer window giving spectacular sea views. The rear bedroom has 2 single beds. Each bed has a cover over the mattress, a duvet and pillows. Please bring your own sheets, duvet covers, pillow slips and towels.
Electricity: is metered and both meters take £1 coins. One is for general electricity and the ‘off peak’ meter is for the storage radiators and hot water.
Parking: There is parking just outside the cottage for unloading, but it will be necessary to use one of the village car parks subsequently. Subject to council policy we provide you with a resident’s parking permit which allows you to park in the car park free of charge. Please ask about this at the time of booking.
The cottage should be kept clean and tidy and left in the condition it is found. Should any of the equipment be found defective it should be reported so that repairs can be made quickly. Any damage or breakages should be reported and made good. Sorry, no dogs or other pets are allowed. No bookings may be passed on to a third party without consent.
Bookings are made by contacting Mrs Jennifer Smith and secured with a £50, non-returnable deposit which is deducted from the rent. The weekly rent for 2009 is £270 plus £20 per person up to 4 people. This is reviewed on January 1st each year. No cancellations will be accepted within 6 weeks of the arrival date. Bookings commence at 2.00pm Saturday and the cottage should be vacated by 11.00 am on the leaving date. Out of season we do take weekend bookings. The fee is £85 for 2 nights and £25 for each subsequent night booked.
The cottage will be open upon arrival. The heating will have been switched on as long as we know when you are arriving. If we are not there to collect the key when you are leaving, please lock the property and post the keys through the door of Cockpit House, along with any necessary messages and outstanding payments.
This is now a no smoking cottage.
